It can be placed in your top tube bag or simply zip tied to your handlebars in a way that makes charging access convenient to you. The device is waterproof, meaning that it can be used inside or outside of your bikepacking bags--provided you use a bit of dielectric grease on the USB-A ports to prevent surface rust. Avoid using dielectric grease on the yellow friction-fit kLite terminals, they are waterproof by design and the use of dielectric grease can cause the terminals to vibrate
