Wireless Magnetic Contact Sensor Switch
The Magnetic Contact Sensor can be used for monitoring doors and windows. It is small (1” x 1” or 2.54cm x 2.54cm) and can be installed discretely. Battery life is around 1 year, depending on the number of transmissions. A rugged but elegant cream plastic case allows the sensor to be deployed both indoors and outdoors and if sealed with silicone could be water-resistant. The sensor is activated by a change in the external switch (i.e. open or close), sending a transmission to the base. While the battery allows for a more discreet sensor, the use of an external power source allows the contact sensor to operate in request/reply or publish mode. In request/reply mode, the device can operate fully "awake" and respond to requests to the current switch state. The device will also transmit switch state changes when in fully awake mode. Optimize battery life Tested at 288 (144 door open/door close) messages per day for 1 year on one battery. If you are using this sensor for doors and window
