Wireless Magnetic Contact Sensor Switch

The Magnetic Contact Sensor can be used for monitoring doors and windows. It is small (1" x 1" or 2.54cm x 2.54cm) and can be installed discreetly. Battery life is around 1 year, depending on the number of transmissions. A rugged yet elegant cream plastic case allows the sensor to be deployed both indoors and outdoors, and, if sealed with silicone, could be water-resistant. The sensor is activated by a change in the external switch (i.e., open or closed), sending a transmission to the base. While the battery enables a more discreet sensor, using an external power source allows the contact sensor to operate in request/reply or publish mode. In request/reply mode, the device can operate fully "awake" and respond to requests to the current switch state. The device will also transmit switch state changes when in fully awake mode.
