While creating these malas, I kept imaging the look of trees along the north shore of Lake Superior. It is made with 6mm sized Moss Agate and Picture Jasper stones, along with a Picture Jasper guru bead carved to look like a leaf. and brown silky tassel, strung on nylon thread and hand knotted between each stone. Moss Agate is a strengthing stone, and has been said to aid women while in labor. Picture Jasper is stabilizing and grounding.  A mala is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. They are sacred and beautiful and can be worn as a necklace or wrapped around your wrist multiple times. Malas are made with 108 beads and a  guru bead. They can be made with fewer beads, such as 18, 27, or 54, which would require the user to make several rotations to complete their full meditation.
