Large Staffordshire Dogs

Early Victorian, classic Staffordshire dogs. Ceramic, free of chips or cracks. This set is an identical pair, although each is hand painted and unique in their own right. There are no identifying maker marks on these as they were produced in small batches by various small pottery companies consisting of 15-20 employees each. These were a mainstay in homes both in the Edwardian and Victorian age. These two pieces are in impeccable condition and have been well cared for for nearly 100 years. Measures: L-7 x W-5 x H-11 inches. Each dog weights nearly 3 lbs. each.
