This particular variety is dark green in color with thick, long pods. Yard long beans thrive in hot humid climates. I switch to growing these during our hot and rainy summers here in Florida. They start producing in about 2 months after being direct sowed into the ground and don't require fertilizer. The plants tend to put on a flush of harvestable beans in a 2-3 week period. Then you will notice the plants kind of stop growing for a few weeks. They will bounce back and then put on another second flush of harvestable pods if you let them continue to grow.
