Great Horned Owls Linocut Relief Print

The meaning behind this piece can be found under many layers. To put it simply, I wanted to create this dynamic piece between two Great Horned Owls. The females are much larger than the males, and from researching a lot about them, they’re not the most affectionate (on camera anyways.) They do show affection in many other ways. This piece tells the story about being strong yet being okay with showing your softer side. It’s about connection and family. It shows the beauty of a strong female lead and how beautiful these owls are both inside and out. This is all about connection on a primal level. To survive, you need to connect with others. To be strong, you have to know what it’s like to be soft. We can only move forward together, not apart, and I’m grateful my art has a place in this world to share the beauty in unity ♥️🦉
