Tissue Box | Concrete
Do you want to own a piece of decor that will make memories for your family? This is it! It may be a bit unusual for some people, but Chanan Tzvi (Kenny), the artist behind Hamsas of Munkatch, fondly remembers the tissue boxes that both of his grandmothers had in their homes. Nana Rena in California had elegant thick lucite boxes in many of her rooms. Bubbie Ida in Connecticut had a lace and fabric covered tissue box in one bathroom and a glass box with a very heavy removable metal ring that sat in another room. Combining a core memory of his with a passion for seeing Judaica in commonplace items around the home, resulted in this tissue box series. A substantial concrete cube box is the base for a dynamic Judaica display of layered metal Hamsa, Evil Eye, and Star of David charms (that promote protection and prosperity). All have been sealed in a resin coating. The back side featured a piece of upcycled wool felt with a singular Star of David charm. Felt bumpers are included to prot
