White Pine

When I go canoeing on the northwood lakes, the white pine and and red pines stick up above the treetops. Particular ones help me orient myself so I can find my way. Muir wrote, "The mountains are calling, and I must go, and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly." Sigurd Olson also wrote “Without love of the land, conservation lacks meaning or purpose, for only in deep and inherent feeling for the land can there be dedication in preserving it.”
