White Orchids

The brilliant morning sun was illuminating the white orchid I had received as aget well gift. I captured this angle and was thrilled with the simplicity andmovement of the petals. Although appearing somewhat monochromatic, there are a multitude of colors involved to create the petals, background and shading.The intense yellow centers were fascinating and difficult to capture. Thegreatest challenge was shadowing the petals to look rounded. I was inspired topaint this symbolic flower which represents reverence, humility, purity andinnocence.
