This particular Kovac-based Harpune II, model P2, serial number #DC012 uses Paulownia woods for its various functional accents & string ribs. The sides of the Body (sound chamber), and Top & Bottom Plates are made entirely from very lightweight Paulownia. Its tone is brighter but balanced across its treble & bass for such a smaller harp. Thus, this harp is lightweight, at 10.6 pounds, and is & melodic because of the thorough use of Paulownia & Maple tone woods for most of its internal & external sound chamber components. It is normal for this type of soundboard to have a bit of noticeable outward flex near the bass region of its string rib. Its Paulownia tone wood Sound Board uses Maple & Paulownia inner supports and inner string rib, creating a very responsive transducer for its harp strings to interact with. The Neck, Pillar (Post), Feet, and structural support Rails use the standard Harpune II laminated & veneered cabinet wood throughout including within the Body. All other features & engineering closely match that of the Harpune II series harps.
