HIDDEN TEMPLE | Candleholder

Hidden Temple explores how human intervention in something as seemingly simple as a rock can give it purpose and meaning. Once a rock is shaped or processed, it stops being neutral and becomes something else. It might turn into part of a home, a tabletop, or disappear into a mix where it’s reduced to a material component. The rock becomes more than just a rock, it serves a purpose for humans. Ironically, this idea is also reflected in how the piece was made. The sculpture was 3D printed in quartz sand and hand-finished in our studio. Sand, one of the most overlooked materials was turned into something solid and intentional.
