Eucalyptus radiata is a variety of Eucalyptus trees that produces an essential oil with a milder and softer aroma than that of the strong and sharp aroma of the globulus type. It is also considered to be more gentle due to its lower cineole content. Cineole is the main component in both eucalyptus type oils. Eucalyptus radiata variety has up to about 70% cineole content vs the Eucalyptus globulus, which has up to 85% cineole content. The differences between the 2 oils are minor, however some prefer the pleasant and more gentle aroma of the radiata variety. Eucalyptus oil is known to support the respiratory and immune system having properties to help relief common cold discomforts.
