Flora II (20.5x17")

Dried Banksia – This is the first of the ink on paper flora series that I made on the larger size paper. I picked up a few dried Banksia stems from a florist. I held a Banksia up in my hand, I placed it in a vase, I set it on a table. No matter which way I turned it, it looked beautiful from every angle, and also so still. When everything felt so up in the air, the stillness of the dried floral and the utter big-ness of the Banksia felt grounded and serene to me.
