Together/Apart (56x53")

Through creating Voyager I was inspired by Joshua Tree CA and thinking back on my past cross-country and international travels. I had lived in Europe, America's East coast & West coast, Japan, and plans to go to Mexico in the summer. I continue the Voyager series over many years, as I am thinking of my relationships, staying with partners and friends, periods of time, rhythm of connections and distance of travel and settlement. – I painted this piece with a house brush, the same one I used to paint the walls of our house at the time. This piece has these repeating lines, like writing a letter or sheet music. I first drew the first lines, then I walked around the paper to the other side, and wrote a response with the second lines. There is this feeling like a conversation or walking together. Then you have to wonder is it together, simultaneously, or is it that back and forth response, and
