24" x 18" x 1.5" Oil on Canvas Collection: Surface Tension _ Surrender 🕊The soft unfinished corners and crispy details around the jewel-like facets on this wave make this one of my favorite paintings.A different type of wave than I’ve painted before, it is not a clean face, it feels more like an emerald ice cave. I really enjoyed abandoning reality on this one and letting myself free-flow it out. 🙏Surrendering internally is really what this is about. To stop trying to control yourself, to cease resistance and allow the light in. Inspired by a wave on the Washington State coast, where the Pacific Ocean reaches sandy shores. I have spent hours studying the colors, light and foam at this spot while breathing in the beauty of a coast in solitude ✨
