Whale sharks (Rhincodon typus), the largest sharks in the world, are endangered. These gentle giants eat plankton and are not harmful to humans. Bycatch is a threat to whale sharks, which can get tangled up in large or discarded fishing nets, and they are also targeted by unregulated fisheries for their meat and oil. A portion of all our proceeds at Jungaloo is donated to the World Wildlife Fund to assist conservation efforts for the majestic whale shark and other endangered species.
