Sanders & Sanders Ltd. (or Sander Bros., as it was first named) was established in 1873 by brothers William and Thomas Sanders of Northamptonshire in England. William Sanders was apprenticed to the shoe and boot trade as a young man working in London as a clicker(a worker who cuts the leather for the shoe) before returning to Northamptonshire in 1871 with the vision of setting up his own shoemaking business with his brother, Thomas. The company remains a family business, owned and operated by the fourth and fifth generations of the Sanders family. The company now produces over 2000 pairs of the finest quality shoes and boots every week.
