Necklace made from wine stained oak, upcycled from a retired Napa Valley wine barrel. Oak barrels play an extremely important role in wine making. They are often used for several years, aging wine to perfection. Once wine barrels are retired from their job of aging world class wine, they typically play out the rest of their days as planters, or are chopped up and discarded. I wanted to find a way to preserve their beauty, and create art that reflects their years of hard work. This necklace is cut from a wine barrel by hand, and set in a Gold Vermeil or Sterling Silver frame. The front displays the deep burgundy colored oak, which is the result of years of holding and aging world famous Napa wine. The open back displays the natural color of the oak. Photographed with different color options, as well as the matching earrings. Available separately or as a set.
