Atelier Tréma began in 2004 with artist Marie-Joël Turgeon, whose background in visual and media arts at UQAM and summers along the Maritimes and American East Coast deeply shaped her ceramic creations. For years, she crafted pictorial works in clay, echoing the moods and textures of the sea. By 2014, alongside her husband Jordan Lentink, the duo shifted toward functional art—introducing a small line of everyday tableware still steeped in their coastal inspiration. Their pieces capture the soft hues of the horizon and the weathered beauty of beach-found treasures, worn smooth by salt, wind, and sun. Each item is a quiet homage to time, tide, and craft.
