A Carved Walrus

I did not wake up this morning wanting to own a carved marble walrus, but life is funny that way.  This one waddled into our life all the way from mid-century Russia. Perhaps taking inspiration from the Soviet Brutalist architecture movement of the time, this simplified figurine is marble-carved with quartz tusks.   Measuring about 5" long and 4" high, this is the type of figurine your friends would pick up and inspect. It's a whimsical and unexpected addition, but yet once it's on your shelf, its worn-in, simplistic structure feels like home.  Vintage, Handcarved Marble Walrus Figurine Dimensions: 5" long, 5" high This is a pre-loved dandie; in very good vintage condition, there's no signs of imperfections that weren't original to the piece; there's variations in the marble which adds visual interest.
