A Pair of Foundry Worker Bookends

This striking (quite literally) pair of foundry iron worker statues is made from - what else? - rugged cast iron, but covered in bronze which gives them that lovely subtle golden sheen.  Produced by Littlestown Hardware and Foundry, Littlestown, PA (known as LITTCO), these are a more rare, taller set - at over 6.5" tall, with each statue weighing about 3lbs. We've researched similar versions that have been smoothed over time, but are detailed by the fantastic detailing - from the face to the hammer and anvil, to the apron tie on the back.  The strong silent type, we're sure there's an origin story to tell here but it's been left behind in the 1920's from whence this pair came.  The pair was meant to be bookends; we've come across single version of this, but discovering such a well-maintained pair was quite a find!  Rare Antique Set of 2 Cast Iron Foundry Blacksmith Workers Statue/Bookends Dimensions: 6.5" tall, 4" wide, weighs approximately 3 lb each  This is a pre-loved dandie; in
