1790 Round Georgian Birmingham Sterling Patch Box by Samuel Pemberton

A Georgian era 1970 patch box without monogram ready to be repurposed as a pill box. A lovely etched design on the front with an oval area for a monogram.  A very lovely solid silver round box from the George the III period. The lid pulls on and off as it should, and shows very minor wear with minor pings. This box measures approximately 7/8" across OD by about 8.11mm high OD. A patch box is a small accessory popular in the 18th century and used by men and women to store artificial beauty marks, or patches, used to hide blemishes or scars on the face. In excellent condition for its age. Hallmarks and maker's marks are visible on the inside top and bottom of the pill box: Birmingham, George, British lion, date letter S for 1790 and the 1787..1811 touch mark used by Samuel Pemberton.
