Antique Carve Bone Miniature Elephant Charm Stanhope Peep Photograph Scene 7/8" Rare stanhope viewer insert in a hand carved bone elephant charm. Appears to have a multi photograph peep scene of buildings in a foreign language - possibly German. Not a lot of high detail in the carving of the elephant. Unusual elephant form. Measures about 1/8" across and shows age appropriate wear. This item was part of a vintage & antique dollhouse & miniatures collection I have been liquidating. The collection was started in 1916 and I simply don't know when the last piece was added to the collection. The earliest known piece in this collection dates between 1825 and 1850.
