Solid Padauk Hourglass With Smooth Spindles

This custom Signature Collection hourglass is handcrafted from solid padauk wood grown in Africa. The color is a redish-brown, often with dark stripes. It is moderately hard and heavy with a medium texture and large pores and a very smooth surface. An elegant and unique wood, it's redish brown color will deepen as the wood ages, taking on an antique look. If exposed to prolonged periods of direct sunlight it will turn a beautiful golden brown. Combined with glass bulbs hand-blown in England, this piece is beautiful. As with all wood each piece will vary slightly in graining and color making each hourglass unique.
