Unagi Kabiyaki (Roasted Eel)

Unagi is the sushi term for farmed freshwater eel that has been barbequed, and basted in eel sauce - a sweet, savory lacquer fully of umami flavor. It is delicious, offering a distinct umami flavor, high fat content and soft, flaky texture that pairs well with avocado and rice.  Our unagi is pre-cooked so all you have to do is defrost, then broil it in the oven to warm. Cut desired portions and use for nigiri sushi and sushi rolls, like a caterpillar roll, or enjoy as part of a rice bowl.
