TOMBO Steering Blade
Current turnaround time on all custom wood paddles is 4 to 6 weeks. See FAQ page for turnaround and new Big Island, Hawaii specification info before ordering. The all-wood Tombo is our newest edition to our steering blade lineup. After weeks of collaborating and testing out different templates and blade angles, we settled on a design that was both sleek and nimble in the water. This Tahitian style steering blade has the length to hold a line or make a subtle correction with little effort, but not fatigue the steersman with a massive surface area. It's the ultimate paddling steersman's blade. The narrow body of the blade holds to the hull without hurting the glide of the canoe with unnecessary water disruption. The double-bend shaft and blade angle allow the steersman to better match the rest of the crew. The blade is constructed of a combination of lightweight woods such as Balsa, Cedar, Basswood, and White Pine. We use a vertical shaft for unparalleled strength. Carbon fiber
