The backstrap weaving was performed by the talented weavers in the highlands Ixil community San Juan Cotzal, the garment preparation by Kakaw staff in Antigua, sewing by talented seamstress Betty in San Antonio Aguas Calientes, and embroidery to join the backstrap-woven panels by none other than the embroideress extraordinaire, Claribel, from Sumpango. We are especially excited to be venturing into garment construction with backstrap-woven fabrics, keeping selvages intact in honor and respect of the talented weavers. With an adaptable design, this top suits a range of body types, featuring a handwoven inner ribbon tie at the front and a larger outer
