Umbria, Italy 100% Sangiovese A rustic red with dusty berry flavors and a distinct note of Italian spices like oregano and cilantro. This’ll make a fantastic pizza wine. Founded in 1961 by Margret Etten Cantarelli, Montemelino is located in the northern hills above Lake Trasimeno, in Tuoro, Umbria. The 8 hectares of vineyards are devoted to the traditional and native grapes of their tiny Colli del Trasimeno DOC; Grechetto, Malvasia, Trebbiano, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo and Gamay del Trasimeno [Cannonau/Grenache]. Margaret and her husband Guido have passed the reins to their daughter, Sabina.
