Springtime Woven Rug, 58" x 33"

Springtime is a twill rug woven from recycled t-shirts and other textiles, in the colors visible on March 23 near my home in east-central North Carolina. Wistera, kerria, oak flowers, daffodils, quince, on a pink warp.  The rug is woven in a 2/2 twill, which creates a thick rug where the weft protects the warp. Note: Washable:  the fabrics used in this rug were upcycled clothing that has been washed many many times.  The warp is pink cotton. The rug is currently attached to a rod and hangs vertically. Size: 58" x 33" Springtime is currently on display at the Haw River Canoe & Kayak Company's Saxapahaw boathouse.
