With Wings Like Eagles

Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.” Isaiah 40:31 The inspiration for this painting was based on a sense of place, a refuge and picturesque mountain landscape with a soft glowing sunset and movement within the water. I incorporated the Isaiah verse by image transfer delicately within the waves. I painted the mountains with casein paint to softly sit within the layers of beeswax. After reflecting on the idea of “mounting up” like an eagle, soaring high in the sky with confidence and no fear. The eagle is not afraid because he knows who he is. I desire that confidence and continually strive to face my fears. The eagle's safety lies within the sky and ours lies with our creator.      I completed this custom commission in June of 2022 prior to heading to the lake for the summer.
