Contemporary Clay Vessel "Moon Jar with Satellites"

I am in love with moon jars, the usually symmetrically spherical vessels with openings, or necks, and feet, or no feet. I can throw on the wheel, but only comically small pieces. I used a slump mold and combined the two halves. As a former quilt maker I am contractually obligated to save and use scraps, so that's what you see applied to the moon jar: scraps created when I evened up my clay on the mold. But let's think of these as satellites that have collected around the moon, which has been scoured by asteroids. Okay? I love the soft glow of this pure black glaze.  -- Free shipping.
