Leather Portable Pack - Easy Backpack PDF Pattern and Video Tutorial
Video tutorial: This compact backpack is a great beginner project, quick to make, and a great way to use any soft leather you didn't know what to do with. It also can be rolled in a compact roll and carried around as a spare bag. By the way, the leather mannequin you see on the pictures is also one of my patterns - you can make one yourself, too! The pattern has stitching holes marked for 5mm stitching irons. Comes in 24" wide, A4 and US Letter formats, SVG included. Size: Height - about 14.8” Width - about 12.5” What you are gonna need: Tools: Knife or scissors, stitching irons, hole punch, maul or mallet, pair of harness needles, waxed thread. Materials: Soft leather, 1.2-1.5 mm (approx. 2.5-3 oz). If you use thinner leather, you may want to use grommets on the holes for reinforcement. 2 drawstrings, 2-3 meters long each (6.5-8 ft). For the corner inlays, 4 oz leather or any other suitable material. For the logo patch I used 4.5 oz veg tan.
