Summer Meadow PDF Embroidery Pattern

This design was inspired by the embroidery seen most often on Hungarian peasant blouses sold in souvenir shops all over Hungary. It was originally used to embellish folk wear in Northern Hungary's Matyo region: men’s and women’s shirts, household textiles, and decorative aprons. This pattern is excellent for the wide waistbands of skirts and dresses or the neckline of a blouses. The single motif included in this pattern file is one of the designs from the Faraway Garden embroidery pattern set, which is available as PDF as well as hot-iron transfer printed pattern here in the shop. I created a stand-alone pattern of this design because it works especially well on the waistline of our Giselle dress pattern (also available in the shop), or at the neckline of a simple peasant blouse. This pattern is a great way to dip your feet into traditional folk embroidery by creating a piece of wearable art, though it would also work great on throw pillows, table runners and other household textiles.
