Wild Lillies are found in various habitats around the world.  They are native to temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Eastern Asia, particularly China, Japan, and Korea is a biodiversity hotspot for lilies, with dozens of native species.  Most lilies grow from bulbs, which allow them to store nutrients, and survive extreme temperatures or drought.  Many wild lilies have evolved alongside specific pollinators. Some have long floral tubes suited for hummingbirds or months, while others have adapted to suite the needs of beetles or bees.
