Kumlien-Schriften and Italic were developed by Akke Kumlien from classic and basic forms to meet the demands of our time (as of 1948): to be good, practical typefaces that are also beautifully designed. A particular advantage is their exceptionally good legibility, which is achieved primarily through their proportions. Both typefaces are available as Linotype matrices—although we can’t ever remember seeing it as a Linotype face. A lovely face in the larger sizes. A total sweetheart.
