The scallop lives in very deep waters (approximately 300–600 ft.) surrounding the islands. *The people I source my shells from, NEVER collect living creatures, all shells are ethically sourced, and found while freediving or scuba diving off the shores of Hawai'i. *Natural cultured freshwater pearls are pearls that develop within freshwater mussels, but unlike natural pearls which occur randomly in the wild, these are cultivated in a controlled environment by pearl farmers.  Information All pieces are hand forged by me, Kelly, at my home studio in Alaska.
