Buff Whitman-Bradley’s poems have been widely published in print and online journals. His other published books of poetry are b. eagle, poet, The Honey Philosophies, At the Driveway Guitar Sale, and The Heron Could Be Lost. In addition to poetry, he has written two nonfiction books for young readers—Endings: A Book About Death; and Where Do I Belong: A Kids’ Guide to Stepfamilies—and a handbook of language activities for elementary school teachers, Growing from Word Play into Poetry. He taught kindergarten for a number of years and also worked as a writer and editor of books and magazines in educational publishing, winning a number of commendations for his work from the Educational Press Association and the International Reading Association. He and his wife, Cynthia, produced the documentary film Outside In, about San Quentin’s death row; and he was a member of the MIRC Film Collective that made the documentary film Por Que Venimos, in which undocumented immigrants told their stories.
