Unexpected Guest

prints of the original oil painting by Ken Dahl The great muskellunge (musky) is illegal to spear through the ice, so the sportsman must think quick so as not to thrust the spear, responsibly differentiating it with a (legal) northern pike. The musky depicted in painting was 34 pounds and was caught in the summer of 1978 by my friend Bob in Leach Lake, Minnesota. My photo study of the fish was from a photograph I took of a friend’s mounted line-caught musky.
