All our Octopi are made from the Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass was invented in the 1880's by the German scientist Otto Schott to be a stronger alternative to the more fragile "soda glass". The glass became much more widely known in the 1920's under the brand name "Pyrex". This glass is loved for its strength and resistance to thermal shock. We love it simply for its beauty.
