The open jaw makes these tongs ideal for grabbing metal with a bulky end that would get in the way with other styles of tongs. They can be made to fit round, square, and rectangular material.  Difficulty Level: Beginner/IntermediateTools Required: Vise, Hot Chisel, Hammer, Drill or Hot PunchHelpful Tools: Rivet Bucking/Heading Tool Rapid Bolt Tongs are made from 5/16" thick mild steel. The jaws are 3" long x 1-3/4" wide and the reins are 12" long. Price includes two Rapid Bolt Tong blanks (to make one pair), one 1/4" x 1" rivet, and an Instruction page. (The tongs shown in the instructions are the thicker Quick Bolt Tongs, but the method of assembly remains unchanged.)
