Artist Adrian Leon creates wonderful katsina dolls. His latest offering is a miniature Hopi Cheveyo or Black Ogre katsina doll. This Katsinam comes during the Powamuya ceremony and acts as a disciplinarian to unruly children reminding them they could be swallowed whole unless well-behaved. He teaches them the Hopi way of life is the best way of life. Adrian decorated with pipe cleaner, feathers, cactus spines, cloth and embroidery thread on a cottonwood body painted with colorful acrylic paints. A collectible small woodwork whose measurements including base are approximately 2 5/8" tall, 1 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" deep.
