Colorful spiny oyster shell comes from the bivalve mollusk found in warm waters such as the Gulf of Mexico, along the coasts of North America, South America and the Philippines. Indigenous cultures have used this vibrant shell ceremonially, in jewelry and for animal carvings as seen in Eric Lonjose's exquisite bushytail (Coyote, Fox or Wolf). Walking in front, this wonderfully-etched wild canine with turquoise eyes makes tracks for other pack members to follow. Approximately 2 1/8" long, 5/8" wide and 1 3/8" tall.
