Tea strainer cup - Shintaro Enami

A beautiful and highly functional cup for brewing and enjoying tea. Artist Shintaro Enami, of Shigaraki, had this to say bout the design: During my student days, while studying abroad in Shanghai, I once saw a mug with a built-in tea strainer. At the time, I never imagined I would become a ceramic artist, so I didn't pay much attention to the tableware. However, when I became a ceramic artist and started designing my own original pieces, the image of that tea strainer mug came back to me as a faint memory, and I decided to try making my own version. It's very convenient when I'm drinking tea alone, and it's one of my favorite pieces.
