Tie dye on silk itajame style. Itajame in Japanese, is one technique of shibori, which uses pieces of wood clamped together around sections of folded fabric to resist the dye in particular shapes. Each piece is unique and one of a kind, each piece is tied and dyed by me. The idea of painting and dying on fabric is to have functional pieces that can be passed down. These pieces can be framed by doing this, silks can be preserved.
