Peanut stew or groundnut stew also called as maafe, sauce d'arachide, Tegadégé foy,tigadèguèna or domoda, is a stew that is a staple food in Western Africa. It originates from the Mandinka and Bambara people of Mali. It is a thick, hearty meal of sweet potatoes, carrots, spinach/collard greens, and chicken in a rich and spicy peanut-tomato sauce. The peanut butter in the stew adds creaminess and the addition of crunchy peanuts on top gives this dish a salty crunch Vegan option available with tofu.
