The Nike Kobe 6 Protro Mabacita Sweet 16 sneaker pays tribute to the late Gigi Bryant and the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. First released in 2011 as Kobe’s sixth signature sneaker with Nike, the Kobe 6 was later re-released in 2018 with the acclaimed Protro program. The all-black upper with a snakeskin inspired design is a homage to Kobe’s Black Mamba moniker, along with the ‘2’ on each lateral side representing Gigi’s AAU basketball jersey number. The heel of both shoes feature the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation crest, Kobe and Gigi’s names underneath, and a neoprene and mesh tongue that provides comfort and stability.
