Fused glass trivets featuring your favorite city landmarks - part of an ever growing series! This trivet features the Spirit of Detroit statue.  Considered the symbol of Detroit, the 26-foot statue sculpted by Marshall Fredericks in the 1950s depicts a seated man holding a sphere in one hand and a family group in the other. The statue's plaque reads, "Through the spirit of man is manifested in the family, the noblest human relationship."  I screen printed the image in green and gold enamels onto wispy white-clear glass, with a 1/4" coordinating strip of opaque green, then fused to about 1400 degrees in a kiln.
