Very Shiny Light Yellow/Beige Houmongi – Traditional Japanese Village People Wearing Kimonos Lifestyle – Lightly Embroidered – Golden Accent
This is a vintage houmongi from the 1990s and features men and women wearing kimonos in a large building complex, possibly in castle grounds.A houmongi is a formal women’s kimono that has a connected pattern at the bottom and a related pattern on a sleeve. This style sometimes branches out to include designs like a wide, C-shaped pattern and a komon-esque pattern that has a design that repeats side to side instead of up and down. These are typically worn when visiting someone’s house or at ceremonies that aren’t at the level of a wedding, but are still formal.
