Stabilizes the camera while walking or running. It keeps from bouncing against your chest or torso, esp. while leaning over while changing lenses or other chores. I call this my National Parks strap. Often used in Utah’s parks (Bryce, Zion, Arches etc.) where one might be driving for a short distance and then jumping out of the car to check out or grab a shot and then back in the car again. The main strap is 4cm (1-1/2") wide and attaches only to your torso with Velcro and stays in place regardless of whether or not you have a camera secured.
