Located in the same antique store as the French Roofer's hammer, this jumped out as worth perserving. Stamped "L&C" and "600", what stood out to Dave was the side mounted nail pull. Sort of chasing hammer in design, but reminiscent of some Eastern European designs that Dave has come across...some of them harkening from  many centuries past, like 1200's Kievan Rus.  History moves in circles though, and if it works it works. Squared-face, hand-forged, 600 would denote the gram weight. Eastern European, maybe Slavic feriers hammer from early part of the 1900's. If I'm wrong you can throw it at me. 13.5" hand fabricated white ash handle, with a nice palm swell. Full burned detail, was rubbed. Total Weight 1.68 lbs
